Why does Ticketmaster require a phone number for My account?
This is required to create yet another obstacle so that the bots cannot create accounts with us as easily and thus for example access the tickets as they're being released faster than a real human. With a phone number, we can verify your identity and that verification codes are delivered directly to your phone, which creates another verification process that gives you more security and reduces the opportunities for suspicious users, for example, bots.
How does the verification process work?
- When you create an account or add a phone number to an existing account, we ask you for a phone number that can receive SMS.
- Sometimes it may take a few minutes for the SMS with the one-time code to be delivered to your phone
- Copy the code, then return to the verification process and enter your code. If it doesn't work when you paste the code, we ask you to try entering the code manually instead, as the system can be a bit sensitive
Your verification code is unique and changes every time you verify a new phone number or request a new code.
What do I do if I get an error message saying my number is not accepted or supported, but I know my number is correct?
Only mobile operators or home phone numbers are accepted. Other options are not supported. If you continue to encounter problems, please contact us HERE
What should I do if my verification code is no longer valid or if I have not received an SMS with the code?
You can ask for a new code by pressing Request a new code. Please note that the verification code is unique and will change each time a new number is to be verified or a new code is requested.
If you still do not receive the code via SMS, you can try being called to receive the code instead.
I don't have a mobile device/can't receive SMS. How do I verify my account?
You can also use a landline to verify your account. Just enter your preferred phone number – there's no need to specify that the number is a landline. If your number is recognized as a landline, we will call you on your landline to provide the code to verify your account.
