What is 3DS 2.0?
3DS 2.0 is an addition to the security rules regarding card payments on the internet that have been introduced in the EU. It is designed to better protect against fraud and simplify safe purchases.
When was this introduced by Ticketmaster?
Ticketmaster is one of many online retailers that introduced the 3DS 2.0 system as of September 2019.
How has it changed the way you buy tickets?
Nothing changes in the way you buy tickets, but the way you verify yourself as a cardholder changes. This means that you may need to show additional proof that you are the cardholder:
- An SMS can be sent to your mobile with a code that you enter on the 3D secure screen. The SMS comes directly from your card issuer, not from Ticketmaster.
- If you use your mobile phone to buy tickets, you will be able to identify yourself through facial recognition or fingerprints.
What happens if I don't receive my verification code or have a problem with the payment?
Contact your card issuer - unfortunately we are unable to help with problems with identification via the 3DS system.
